Choosing a Nursery is a big decision. At Clever Clowns we understand what is important to both parents and children.   Our aim is to provide the perfect solution for any parent seeking a safe, fun and stimulating childcare environment.

Established and run by Sharon Makin, BA (Hons), Clever Clowns Day Nursery is regulated by OFSTED in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage - Welfare Requirements.  We pride ourselves in both meeting and exceeding these standards. Our constant endeavour is excellence in childcare.

                                                                  Our Ethos and Approach

 We are a 30 place nursery set in a semi-detached property built around the 1930''s.   We have a lovely rear garden which has a 'pretend' grassy area together with a soft surfaced area.  We also have a sensory and planting area for the children.

Our Nursery Team consists of highly experienced and qualified staff that provide a caring, happy and stimulating environment for your child.  Your child will develop a relationship with all of the adults within the nursery, however, they will have a special bond with their 'Key Person'.  Your child's Key Person will plan activities specifically with your child in mind.  This planning will be based on the child''s interests and a lovely ''Learning Journey'' will be created for you and your child.

We really value partnerships with parents and carers as you know your child better than anyone.  To this end, our aim is to work alongside you in order to provide a balance of free and structured play opportunities.

Our environment encourages natural curiosity both indoors and outdoors through exploration, problem solving and investigation and we sincerely hope that your child enjoys their time at Clever Clowns.
